Enclosure Recommendations
Italian Crested Newts can be kept in 2-3ft long enclosures that have both a land and a water section. Any filtration used in the water portion should be low flow, as these Newts like still water. Water should be at room temperature not exceeding 25c, about 6 inches deep, and should be free of chlorine. The land area should contain a soil substrate with moss and cork bark to hide within. It is important that the land area does not dry out, or become too swampy.
