Sex: Female
Suitable for: First time reptile owners after a stunning new family pet.
Captive bred? Yes
Handling: Very friendly and use to handling
Size range: Around 3-4ft for mature males
Housing and habitat: As a baby they will go into a 2 foot vivarium, slowly increasing as they get older to finally be in a minimum recommended of a 4x2x2
This species requires basking temperatures of 32-35 Celsius, with a minimum night time drop to 22 Celsius and ideally thrives in areas of 50-60% humidity. UV lightning is not necessary for this species although studies show they benefit from exposure to UV rays.
This species does not require feeding as often as most other pets. As babies they will typically eat once a week, juvenile to sub adult once a fortnight, then as an adult once a month, depending of food items offered, so very low feeding cost in comparison to other species and perfect for those new to the hobby as maintaining feeding schedule is easier to manage.
