Female Albino Conda Hognose snake
Photos taken March 2024
Sex: Female
Captive bred : Yes
Handling: Lovely to handle
Size: Approximately 2 ft
Housing and habitat: As she is an adult, a 3×2 vivarium will be suitable for her with a 32-35°C hotspot temperature.
Suitable for: beginners and breeders
Similar care to corn snakes but at a reduced size being one of the smaller species we regularly stock and produce in house. Males average only 2 ft with females growing to around 3 ft so a vivarium of similar length works perfectly for them.
This species is known as rear-fanged venomous - a scary name for a not so scary adaptation - they use a bacteria in their mouths to improve their hunting odds.
This can act similarly to a bee sting with some people being allergic and more prone to swelling and itching of the bite site. That being said this species isn’t overly bitey and is more likely to give a warning head butt if provoked.
Kits available.
