Average Adult Size: Males 20-25cm, Females 11-15cm
Natural Habitat: Sub-Saharan Africa
Enclosure recommendations
Giant African Bullfrogs should be housed alone. Babies can be housed in plastic faunarium-style enclosures, and adults can be housed in terrariums, with full-grown adult males requiring a 3ft long enclosure as a minimum.
A thick layer of soil-based substrate should be provided as these frogs love to burrow. A large, shallow water dish should be a provided and replenished daily.
Heating should be thermostatically controlled, and temperature and humidity should be measured with a digital thermo-hygrometer or heat gun for accuracy. Low-level Shade Dweller UV lighting can be used.
