Madagascan Cat Eyed Snakes are mildly rear-fanged venomous as a hunting adaptation. If a person is bitten, this can act similarly to a bee sting, with some people being more prone to a reaction than others. That being said, this species do not tend to bite unless provoked and feeling threatened.
Enclosure recommendations
Babies can be housed in hatchling snake kits until this is outgrown, and then moved to larger 90×45cm enclosures when adult.
Heating should be thermostatically controlled and not in direct contact with the snake, with temperatures measured using a digital thermometer or heat gun for accuracy.
