Handling: Nervous, may be better suited as a display animal
Suitability: Well-researched Beginner
Average Adult Size: 7 to 9cm, not including tail
Natural Habitat: Arid areas of Southern Africa
Enclosure recommendations
Giant Ground Geckos should be housed in a vivarium measuring 2ft long as the minimum size.
Thermostatically controlled overhead heating should be provided, with temps measured using a digital thermometer or heat gun. UV lighting is beneficial.
Giant Ground Geckos require multiple hides within their enclosure, one of which should be filled with moist sphagnum moss to aid in their shedding cycle, with the rest of the enclosure kept at a low ambient humidity.
